5th Annual AMHA Road Hockey

Tournament Information

What is it?

The AMHA Road Hockey Tournament is a fun and easy way to raise funds for AMHA by allowing each player to play among friends, meet new players throughout their age group/division and participate in a full day of road hockey.

When is it?

Saturday September 7th, 2019

Who can play?

The tournament is open to any player (Tyke/Novice, Atom, Peewee, Bantam & Midget) that is or will be registered with AMHA by August 31st, 2019. 

Why register a team?

By registering a team, you are assisting with helping offset some of the necessary costs associated with AMHA. On September 7th there will not be any allocated ice time for any AMHA teams as players are encouraged to register a team for this event.

What is the cost?

The cost is $100 per team.  Five players’ maximum per team with no less than four players registered. Last day to register is August 26th, 2019. ***Each player will receive a FREE hot dog, pop and snack ***

When is payment due?

Payment is due August 26th, 2019 and payment can be made by eTransfer to [email protected] or by cheque payable to AMHA. Payment must be paid in full to be registered for the tournament

  1. All teams must register either four or five players. There will be three players and a goalie playing at a time.

  2. All participants must wear a CSA approved helmet with full face protection, and hockey gloves at all times

during play.Ice hockey equipment is permitted. Goalie pads are permitted.

  1. Each game is 25 minutes long (straight time), with two 12-minute halves.A face-off at centre starts both halves.A 1-minute break will be provided between periods.

  2. Possession: The last player to touch the ball before going out of bounds must forfeit the ball to the opposing team at the point of exit. Ample tennis balls will be made available at each playing site.

  3. A 3-minute penalty will be assessed to a player for any of the following infractions:

    • Slashing

    • Tripping

    • Body Contact

    • Slap-shots beyond centre

    • Abusive language

When a goal is scored by the opposing team, the penalized team will return to full strength.

  1. No off-sides or face-offs. Whistles are only to be blown for infractions and to end both periods.

  2. When a goal is scored, the team scored upon is given centre.

  3. Goalies are not allowed to cross centre.

  4. Tied games will result in a shoot-out, whereby each player is given a shot on net (a total of 3 shots per team) in order to break the tied game. If a tie still exists, then one shot is given to a player in turn on each team until the tie is broken.

  5. Games will not be rescheduled. If a team does not arrive within 5 minutes of game time, they shall default their game.

  6. The site coordinator's word is final!

  7. We reserve the right to eject anyone, player or spectator, for questionable conduct.

  8. All players must be registered with AMHA by August 31st, 2019.

  9. All players will play in the age group they are registered in for the upcoming 2018/19 AMHA season.(Tyke and Novice will be a combined age group.)

  10. Last day to register to play in the 3 on 3 tournament is AUGUST 26TH, 2019.
