Playoff Series Tied After Pair of Weekend Games
The Aylmer Novice LL1 Flames finished the playoff weekend with a tied series after a couple of hard fought games.

On Saturday, Feb 7 the Flames kicked off their best of 5 series at home against Mt.Brydges.  The visitors scored the first 3 goals but the Flames battled back to make it 3-2 before Mt Brydges managed to score 2 more goals to make it 5-2.  The home team was able to score a late goal to finish the game with a score of 5-3.  In all the team played good but got beat by a couple of fast Mt Brydges players.  Graydon Foster may a bunch of key saves to keep the game within reach.  Goals were scored by Cole Shoup, Gavin Russell and Ryhan Hewbank.  Assists went to Gavin Russell and Colin Holmes.

On Sunday Feb, 8 the team travelled to Mt Brydges for game 2.  The Flames team came out the gates a lot harder than the previous game and put more pressure on the Mt Brydges team.  We were also able to get in the way of and slow down the 2 faster Mt. Brydges players who beat us in game 1. After a scoreless first period Aylmer was able to get on the board first with a nice pass by Rhyan Hewbank to Colin Holmes who was able to slip it by the goalie.  Aylmer was able to strike again in less than a minute with a slick pass by Cole Shoup from behind the net to a wide open Gavin Russell who was able to quickly knock it into the open side. Graydon Foster once again made a number of real strong saves to keep us in the lead.  Should prove to be a very close and exciting series.
