Aylmer LL1 Wins Over Aylmer LL2
Aylmer LL1 "visited" Aylmer LL2 on Thursday, November 26 and came out on top with a 4-1 win. The game was a close affair with Colin Holmes scoring the first goal at 4:31 of the second period. Aylmer also got 2 goals from Matt Worrell and a single by Gavin Russell. Assists went to Carter Deutsch (2) and Gavin Russell.
Team defense was critical in this match in limiting LL2's scoring opportunities. Noah Sleegers was excellent between the pipes making a number of highlight reel saves. Aylmer LL1's forwards did a great job applying back pressure on LL2's rushes and the defense was exceptional at clearing rebounds in front of the net and slowing down LL2's speedy forwards allowing the forwards time to get back and support.
The victory was a good team win and things are moving in the right direction as we face some tougher teams over the next few weeks.
