Aylmer Takes Loss in Friendly Match with Ingersoll
On Friday, Jan 8 Aylmer travelled to Ingersoll for an exhibition game against Ingersoll.  Carmeuse is an international company with a location outside of Ingersoll and sponsored the Ingersoll teams to play an exhibition game against an outside team.  This year Ingersoll invited our Aylmer team to participate.

The Ingersoll team has a 14-3-1 record in Southern Counties play and proved to be worthy competition.  The game was tight indeed and Ingersoll wasted no time getting on the board 4 minutes into the game.  Aylmer continued to push and managed to tie the game up 2 minutes later on a goal by Colin Holmes.  The first period ended in a 1-1 tie.  The Flames came out hard in the second period with Colin Holmes scoring his second of the game at 8:49 to put the Flames up 2-1.  Ingersoll came back to tie the game on a fluke goal that deflected off an Aylmer stick and past goalie Noah Sleegers who was sliding the other direction to make the save.  The home team kept coming and took the lead less than 2 minutes later on an odd man rush.  The Flames had numerous break away's and in close chances in the third period and despite a furious last minute forecheck were unable to tie the game.  Noah Sleegers made a number of glorious saves to keep the game close.  Colin Holmes was named player of the game for Aylmer.  Goalie Riley Vyse was named player of the game for Ingersoll.  Special mention should go to Braylon Jacques on the Flames defense for breaking up numerous dangerous plays and moving the puck up the quickly to create many scoring changes.

Ingersoll was a gratious host providing the kids with Gatorade after the game and mini stick souveneirs.  Thanks to Ingersoll for the invite.  We hope to re-pay the favour later in the season.
