Aylmer Beats Belmont - Goes 5-1 in Season 1
The Aylmer Novice LL1 team wrapped up the season 1 schedule with a 9-0 win over the Belmont Rangers on Sunday, November 8.  The win gave the team a 5-1 record which was good enough to put them in the top of the LMLL standings and in the top pool for season 2.  This season all novice teams played 6 regular season games (season 1) and were then ranked and placed in a pool with similar ranked teams to complete the second half of the season (season 2).

The Aylmer team controlled much of the play and the score may well have been much high if not for the outstanding play of the Belmont goalie.  Leading the scoring was Colin Holmes with 5 goals, Gavin Russell with 4 goals, Thomas Dance with 1 goal and 4 assists and Carter Deutsch with 1 goal and 1 assist.  The entire team played hard with defensemen Tyler Vis, Matt Worrell, Cory Brubacher and Owen Peters keeping the puck hemmed into the Belmont zone and clearing the puck quickly from the Aylmer end.  Goaltender Noah Sleegers had to make a couple of big saves to record his first career shutout.

The entire team continues to improve and everyone should be proud of making it into the top pool of teams.  The coaching staff of Jamie Dance, Shane Deutsch and myself are looking forward to big things in the second half of our season.

GREAT JOB AYLMER!!
