Province enters an "emergency brake" Saturday
Most of our members should have heard the announcement by the Ontario Government this afternoon. The "emergency brake" will commence Saturday.

With a 28 day "emergency brake" commencing Saturday, all ice times from Saturday onward will be cancelled. We were all hoping that we could make the whole month of April, but it appears that will not be possible. The AMHA board is determining the next steps and will make an announcement as soon as possible.

The AMHA would like to thank all players for being positive throughout the season. Your willingness to adapt to new rules and guidelines was tremendous. We hope that you at least enjoyed what could be offered for this season.

We appreciate all the support of our parents and are grateful for your patience. Without your flexibility, and commitment, this modified season would have been impossible.

To the coaches, trainers, managers, on-ice volunteers, we appreciate your commitment to your teams. At times, it was challenging to keep players motivated, engaged and enjoying their time on the ice. We thank you for your creativity and efforts throughout the season. Your willingness to give your time, which did not come without significant risk and uncertainty, did not go un-noticed.

Though some may think this year was a "write off" or "a lost year," there were so many tangible things to gain. In spite of all the challenges, here are a few terms that my players have heard, that come to mind.

Fellowship -- Patience -- Perseverance -- Co-operation -- Inclusion -- Creativity -- Determination

Thanks again to you all on behalf of the AMHA Board!!

Have a great holiday weekend.

Tim Hortons
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games.
