Interested in getting involved as a referee?
Referees are always in need. In general, the number of referees involved in minor hockey has been decreasing. Without referees, we cannot play games. Without local referees, we will have to rely on referees from out of our area, and this of course results in the organization paying more for mileage. Thus, having local referees is essential.

Only serious inquiries please.  Referees have to be 14 years of age or older.  Being a referee requires a knowledge of the game, confidence, an ability to make quick decisions, and a willingness to learn the game from a different vantage point.

If you or your child has interest in being a referee, please contact Mark Holmes at [email protected] asap. The Southern Counties Minor Hockey League is looking at offering a ref clinic soon.

Tim Hortons
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games.
