NEW Jerseys, New socks, Refreshed Sportsheadz App
Though in some ways, it feels like September has been a whole season, the reality is the season hasn't yet begun. There are some exciting times for all of us to come.

For some, its their first year of wearing an Aylmer jersey and socks. For others they will get to wear brand new jerseys with a newly branded logo. For some they will get to wear newly branded Atom MC jerseys. With the exception of the U8 teams, each team gets home and away matching socks as well. On top of that, we get to travel a bit and show off our skills, and see our friends in the game we love.

The AMHA is happy to be facilitating this for our families, in spite of all the obstacles.

We need our coaches, families and players help in maintaining our equipment. The AMHA has new jerseys for our rep teams this year and are hopeful our local league teams will follow in upcoming years. Each player gets two new pairs of socks, one for home and one for away. Surely, the decision to spend on these projects, was not done without lots of debate, because it's the boards job to keep the economics of the organization in good standing. But it was the right time to build some enthusiasm after a season full of challenges.

So we are grateful to Andrea Reynaert, Amanda Reynaert and Steve Voros for submitting logo's for consideration. The long awaited logo is on the jerseys, and some teams have already had the pleasure of donning these jerseys in games. Wear them with pride.

With the exception of our Tim Bits players in U5 and U7, to keep our jerseys and socks in good condition, we ask the following.

  1. We ask that our coaches do not give the jerseys out to kids to keep on their own. We need to keep track of them. Every year we struggle to get them back and in the last two years its been very difficult.
  2. When coaches bring jerseys back to the rink or have them at home, please try not to keep them in the bag. Hang them up, they get moldy and mildewy.
  3. We ask that you do not wear game jerseys in practice. We want to maintain them for a number of years so not to have to replace them often.
  4. We encourage kids to wear separate practice socks. The first set is free, but any others will cost the player. These run about 30.00 a piece, so giving each player two sets (home and away) is expensive.
Your coach should be setting up the sportsheadz app which will replace the paper forms. Please ensure you RSVP and fill in the players health screen. Parents can continue to use the arena screen.

We are thrilled to be moving forward, and hope you all have enjoyed your time at the rink over the last month.

Be kind and respect each other.

Thanks

The Timbits Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games.
