The OMHA eliminating gate fees for 2022-2023 season
The AMHA is notifying our families that commencing the 2022-2023 season, there will no longer be gate fees at OMHA sanctioned games.

The OMHA announced the decision this past week, without consulting its members or the leagues. As a result, most centres who presently charge a gate fee will lose out on income that is used predominantly to pay for referees and time keepers. You should know that on average referees and time keepers for the season cost over $20,000. Any extra income above and beyond that is used to supplement registration.

As a result, the AMHA will need to increase registration costs per participant for the 2022-2023 season. We are wanting to ensure families have enough time to plan for this increase.

Thanks.

Tim Hortons
The Timbits Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games.
