Potential Amalgamation
To our Valued AMHA Members:

Re: Amalgamation between Aylmer Minor Hockey and Belmont Minor Hockey Associations

There have been several meetings to date that have taken place to discuss the possibility of amalgamation and what it looks like for each of our organizations.

Our mission is to create the best minor hockey experience for all of the players.

We are committed to doing all that we can for the betterment of the game, our players, and our communities.

On January 9th, 2023, the AMHA board notified our OMHA Regional Director of our intention to enter into Amalgamation negotiation talks with Belmont Minor Hockey.

The Amalgamation committees of AMHA and BMHA have extensive work to complete in order for this to be a possibility.

The steps to complete the amalgamation process are as follows:

>
Continue formal amalgamation discussions to come to an amalgamation agreement.
>
Hold a Townhall meeting to provide information to each associations members regarding  amalgamation and to answer any questions.
>
Once a general agreement in principle is reach it will be taken to the AMHA and BMHA boards for approval
>
Once approved by the boards a membership vote will be held.  There must be 2/3rds vote in favour of amalgamation for amalgamation to proceed.
>T
he final step is for the Agreement to be sent to OMHA for review and approval

Further communications will be forthcoming in the near future. A date for the Townhall meeting will be set shortly and r
egular updates will be posted on the website.  Please use the below link to send any questions to the amalgamation committee.

Tim Hortons
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games.
