Honouring "Leny"
The Aylmer Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) sadly announces the passing of Coach Chris ‘Leny’ Lenehan. Coach Chris was the head coach of our U18 Red Team this hockey season and has been an integral part of our organization for over a decade. Throughout his tenure, he inspired countless youth to embrace, grow, and find joy in the sport of hockey. His dedication and passion for the game have left a lasting impact on our community.

The AMHA is offering support to the U18 Red Team, the Lenehan family, and anyone else in our organization that may need it. We are grateful for the cooperation of the Lambton Middlesex Local League for immediately cancelling a game scheduled for this week. We admire the courage it takes for all players and families to persevere under such circumstances and continue to play in memory of Leny at a tournament this weekend.

Despite the will of the team to continue on, we recognize it will not be easy, and our shared loss will affect members of our organization differently. We encourage all to grieve, seek support, and heal in their own way. Should anyone need additional support, from crisis intervention to mental health services, we encourage you to reach out to any one of the following:

The Timbits Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games.
