Marg Smith Retires From AMHA Gate Duties
The AMHA would like to acknowledge Marg Smith for her long standing commitment and dedication to our organization.

For many many years, Marg Smith has been the gate keeper of the Aylmer Flames organization. She and her family have been a huge partner in the minor hockey and Jr. Hockey systems in Aylmer for as long as I can remember. Several years ago, when I was young boy, her husband John provided skate sharpening and equipment services to thousands of families. Marg and her family provided me with my very first "I got a hat trick puck." Marg was and continued to be the friendly but firm face at the entrance of many organizations  over the years including the Hornets, the Aces, the Blues and the Spitfires. Rarely, was a substitute ever needed, as her reliability was extremely consistent.

So it is bittersweet that we have to move forward without Marg at our side. We wish her the best of times with all the extra free time she has. I hope some day soon she will be able to enjoy her free time. It will be extremely hard to find a replacement at the front door.

Thank you Marg Smith for all the hard work and dedication from your extended minor hockey family.

AMHA now has a difficult task of finding someone or a few people willing to work our door. Should you have any interest in working the gate at the complex for AMHA, please contact Mark Holmes at [email protected].

Thanks.

Tim Hortons
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games.
