The
AMHA would like to recognize the success of our Local League teams over the
past year.
The U8/9 Black Team started the year off with a diverse
group, from players who were new to Hockey and players with years of
experience. The first half of the year we played half-ice games, did well and
won about half our games. In January we switched to full-ice and played in 2
tournaments early in that season. We didn't have great success at the tournaments, but
we did have some close games. Near the end of February, the kids started coming
together and working as a team. By the end of the season, we were in a 3-way
tie for first in our division. The biggest highlight of my year was seeing how
much the kids developed; from hockey skills, players coming out of their
shells, and learning to be team players.
The U8/9 Red team started the year playing half ice and transitioned into
full ice at their first tournament of the year the Parkhill Silver Stick where
they won 5 games and took home the championship. They lost in the semifinals of
both the Aylmer and Riverside tournaments. They competed in the Tier 1 of the
LMLL and finished 14th of out 25 teams. The kid’s development was
obvious from week to week, and they all worked very hard, and had a ton of
fun. The coaching staff would like to thank this group of players and
families for a great year.
The U8/9 White started off the year with a number of different skill sets
and a very young group as most where U8 this season. We transitioned well to
full ice in January and the team played some good hockey losing in the semi
finals of the Aylmer tournament. The finished 6th out of 15 teams in
the LMML Tier 2 division. Good luck to all the players next season.
U11 Red - Our first season as coaches was simply amazing. We couldn't
have asked for a better group of kids! We made it to the finals in the Langton
tournament and to the Semifinals in the Max Partlo tournament in Tillsonburg.
Our season record was 17-12-6 and our playoff record was 7-1-0 which we
finished first place in tier 4! There were many highlights throughout the season,
and we couldn't be prouder of how far everyone has come.
The
U13 Black Team had a great season finishing with a record of 23-8-5, they won
the Aylmer Regional Silver Stick and lost in the semifinals of the International
Silver Stick in Pelham. Overall, they finished 5th in very competitive
LMLL U13 league.
The
U13 Red Team had a good season finishing with a record 15-12-7 and a 3rd
place finish in the LLML Tier 2 division. They lost in the finals of both the
Regional Silver stick and Riverside Family first Tournaments.
The
U15 Team had a season of victories and tough battles while competed this year
in a very challenging LMLL League amassing a record of 22-21-4 while finishing
4th in Tier 2. The team fought hard all season and gave it their
best at every tournament they participated in. Successfully winning the Aylmer
Regional Silver Stick tournament and proudly represented the AMHA at the
International tournament in Pelham going 2-2.
The
U18 Team had a season of ups and
downs, but lots of growth and improvement was made with this great group of
players. Strong teamwork, dedication and support from parents made this a
successful season. Special thanks to all our sponsors for their support.

The organizations' overall Local League record was 117-94-35.
