Aylmer Atom LL2 Windsor Tournament Champions
The Aylmer Atom LL2 Flames spent the Family Day Weekend competing in the Families First Windsor Hockey Tournament.  The team played five games over two days to bring home the Championship Cup. 

The first game was against Riverside Blue and the team came away with a 7-2 win.  Goals were scored by Rhyan Hewbank (4), Colin Holmes (2) and Carter Deutsch. Assist went to Kenzie Steele (4), Jaydon Bal (3), Jimmy Reynaert (2), Gavin Russell (2), Rhyan Hewbank and Matt Fleurie.

Game 2 was against Strathroy Rockets White and the Aylmer team came away with a 5-2 win.  Goals were scored by Jaydon Ball (3) and Matt Fleurie (2).  Assists went to Kenzie Steele (3), Carter Deutsch (2), Rhyan Hewbank, Cory Brubacher, Jay Ball and Matt Fleurie.

Aylmer took the third game 5-0 against Riverside Red.  Goals were scored by Colin Holmes (2), Rhyan Hewbank, Jay Ball and Cory Brubacher.  Assists were by Jay Ball (2), Rhyan Hewbank (2), Carter Deutsch (2), Matt Fleurie and Colin Holmes.

With a 3-0 round robin record Aylmer was to meet the Simcoe Warriors in the semi finals.  The two teams were evenly matched and the game was close throughout.  Simcoe struck first with an early first period goal but the Aylmer team persevered and scored 3 unanswered second period goals to win the game and advance to the finals. Goals were scored by Matt Fleurie (2) and Rhyan Hewbank with assists going to Jay Ball, Nate Shackelton and Carter Deutsch.

The semi-final win setup a rematch with the Strathroy Rocket White team that Aylmer had previously beaten in round robin play.  This was another tough game with play going back and fourth.  Once against the Aylmer team was able to weather the storm and skate away with a 3-2 win.  goals were scored by Carter Deutsch with 2 and Cory Brubacher.

It was a great weekend with 4 Aylmer teams participating in the tournament.  The weather was great with lots of fun being had by kids and parents.  Thanks to the parents for their support all season and congratulations to the players on adding yet another great achievement to their season.
