Novice LL1, Novice, 2015-2016 (Aylmer Minor Hockey Association)

Congratulations to the Aylmer Novice LL1 team for winning the Riverside Minor Hockey Local League Tournament on Family Day weekend.  Also congratulation to the Aylmer Bantam team on their win at the Riverside Tournament as well.  It was a great showing for the two Aylmer teams.

Aylmer hosted Point Edward in game 2 of their LMLL playoff series.  With Aylmer taking the first game in Point Edward the visitors were sure to come out strong and they did, scoring 41 seconds into the first frame.  The first period would remain tight with both teams having chances but not able to put it past either goal tender until 2:53 when Aylmer's Carter Deutsch was able to pickup a rebound off a Gavin Russell shot and slide it past Point Edward's goalie.  Assist credited to Gavin Russell. 

Aylmer Novice LL1 travelled to Point Edward on Saturday, February 6 to open the playoffs against a team they had failed to beat in their first two regular season meetings.  The challenge was steep but the Flames team has shown all season they can step up in big games.

On Saturday, January 9 Aylmer travelled to Strathroy for a league game against the White team.  The Flames controlled the game from start to finish with contributions from many players.  Goals were scored by Gavin Russell (2), Carter Duetsch (2), Colin Holmes (2), Thomas Dance and Matthew Worrell.  Assists went to Cam Vermeer (3), Matthew Worrell (3), Gavin Russell, Colin Holmes, Cory Brubacher and Thomas Dance.  Noah Sleegers played strong in net with a few highlight real saves.

On Friday, Jan 8 Aylmer travelled to Ingersoll for an exhibition game against Ingersoll.  Carmeuse is an international company with a location outside of Ingersoll and sponsored the Ingersoll teams to play an exhibition game against an outside team.  This year Ingersoll invited our Aylmer team to participate.
